Due to severe predation it is with sadness and reluctance than we need to close Blythe Pool in Tean for the foreseeable future. We are working closely with the Environment Agency, Angling Trust and other specialists to put measures in place to prevent predation and start a restocking program. We will keep you updated on progress and we will be working tirelessly in the background to get this water open and fishing again as soon as possible. Members are requested not to visit the pool as we have advised the land owner that the pool is closed and for Health & Safety reasons as we will be felling trees and carrying out works on the site.

From Meir take the A50 past Blythe Bridge, through Draycott, and Totmonslow  and just follow the road all the way down to the village of Tean. Do not cross the bridge, so with the bridge in front of you and the garage on your left, turn right into    Riverside Road. With the river on your  left carry on along the road, ignore the turning on the left with the cattle grid and go straight on up the tarmac lane until you reach the  rough made part of the lane. Carry on and follow this rough made stretch  all the way until you reach the bridge over the (A50). Go over the bridge and keep left, go over the cattle grid down to the next cattle grid, drive all the way down the field to the concrete pad. Turn left on the pad and go through the gate. There is a small pool on your left, go straight on (do not turn left). Go through the gate in front of you and to an old barn on your left, the car park is on your right. After parking go through the gate, the pool is fifty yards or so on your right. At certain times of the year the farmer will allow members to drive to the pool and unload, then return to the car park. If the gate is closed when you get there, go through but please close it behind you. Please use the pegs provided, do not fish in between  pegs as these spaces will be planted out. The distance from the main road to the pool is approximately 1.5 miles, so do not think that you have missed it.
