CLUB RULES

 


The association shall be known as CREDA RED HOUSE ANGLING CLUB. (Hereafter referred to as ‘The Club’.

The Club is a non-profit making organization, run by the members for the members to develop and participate in the sport of angling.

 

A general purpose committee will be appointed by election each year to manage the affairs of the club. The general purpose committee will consist of: Chairman, Treasurer,     Secretary, Match Secretary, Assistant Chairman, Assistant   Secretary, Assistant Match Secretary and five other officers.

 

In the absence of an executive member another member may be seconded to the appropriate post. An Annual General   Meeting will be held at the headquarters on the second Monday in October, all members are urged to attend.

 

Any addition, deletion, amendment or other alteration to  club rules will be by majority vote at the AGM or an Extra Ordinary General Meeting. An Extra Ordinary General     Meeting would be convened should it be  Necessary to do so.

 

Any nomination of officers or notices of motion to alter rules must be handed in to the secretary in writing 28 days prior to the AGM.

 

Two auditors will be appointed by the committee and will audit the accounts prepared by the Treasurer for the AGM. Members should be made aware that although the club has Public Liability cover, that they (the  Members) are ultimately responsible for their own safety, and that all the committee are free from legal liability for personal safety of the members.

 

The committee wish to make members aware that anglers names and weights of fish may be published in the Media, but not the name of the venue where caught.

 

An annual subscription will be levied at a level to cover the operating costs of the club. The subscription will be recommended to the members by the committee at the AGM. The annual subscription is due in January / February. Any member who has not renewed their membership by the end of the March meeting will be deemed to have left the club. Any application after the deadline date will incur both a joining fee and the annual subscription. Membership after the March  meeting can be by post.

For renewal of club membership by post, please send your ID photo and completed application form to the club chairman. Applications without a Stamped Self Addressed Envelope will be rejected.

 

A monthly meeting for members will be held on the second Monday of each month at 8.00pm. The meeting will be held at Headquarters. All members are welcome to attend.

 

In regard to the management of club waters, the committee maintain the authority to take necessary actions to amend and impose restrictions as situations dictate. All members fishing club waters should have with them, rod license, identity card and permit. These must be produced on request by a bailiff or any other member who identifies themselves.

 

Definitions:     Juvenile – 1 to 11 years of age.

Junior - 12 years of age to 16 years.

Adult/Senior - 17 years of age to 64 years.

OAP - 65 Years and over.

 

Juveniles are not allowed to fish rivers. They may fish still   waters if accompanied by an adult member who is responsible for them at all times and share the same peg. Juniors may fish rivers if accompanied by an adult who is responsible for them at all times. On still waters juniors may fish adjacent peg under adult guidance. A maximum of two rods may be fished on one swim only. A Rod and Pole must NOT be used at the same time. Juveniles and Juniors one rod only. Do not encroach on another swim.

 

No members are to fish within 10 metres (still water) or 25 metres (river) of another angler unless with mutual consent.

 

Keep nets when used must be as stipulated by the Seven Trent Water Authority. No other vessel is to be used to contain fish. Carp over 1 kilo in weight are not to be retained by pleasure anglers. Boilies and other high protein baits are banned from all club waters. No barbed hooks allowed on ‘still waters’. No lead weights over 2 oz to be used on any still waters. Fishing is from dawn to dusk on all waters. No night fishing. No tins or glass containers are to be taken to any club waters. All litter must be taken away. Litter around your peg will not be       tolerated. No coarse fish to be removed from club waters. with the exception of jack pike 20 inches or under. All members when fishing must be in possession of a landing net. Matches will be held on club waters during the year. Details of all the matches are available from the match secretary.

 

Matches: All matches to be fished to NFA rules. Certain rules and conditions apply to matches only. Details can be provided by the Match secretary.

 

Rivers: Keep to the river bank or other recognized paths at all times. Do not cut across fields.

 

Anybody targeting ‘Specimen Fish’ must be in possession of an un-hooking mat.

 

Should a member commit any serious act of misconduct they may be called before the committee to give an explanation of their  conduct. The committee is authorized to take whatever action is appropriate in the interests of the club. If expulsion of a member from the club is imposed, there will be no financial redress, and he/she will not be eligible for further membership.

 

All fish MUST be returned ALIVE to the water and ANY Fish deaths MUST be reported TO THE COMMITTEE

 

No fish to be taken away ALIVE or DEAD without the express permission of the owner, To do so may  result in a Civil or Criminal prosecution under Schedule 1 Section 2 of the Theft act

 

NEW RULES

 

·      No loose floating baits to be used on any of the clubs pools. The use of a single floating  hook bait is allowed as long as there is no loose floating bait put on the water around it.

 

·      The maximum hook size allowed on any of the clubs pools is no larger  than a number 10 barbless.

 

·      The use of a Rod and Pole at the same time is banned

 

·      No lead wights over 2oz. to be used on any Creda Redhouse Angling Club  still waters

 

·      The keep net ban is still lifted. (This means keep nets can be used in Spring)

Creda Redhouse Angling Club Code of Conduct


This Code of Conduct exists to ensure that our waters remain safe, enjoyable, and sustainable for all members, visitors, and wildlife. All members are expected to follow these rules at all times when representing or fishing on behalf of the club.

1. Respect for Others

  • Treat fellow members, visitors, bailiffs, landowners, and the public with courtesy and respect at all times.
  • Abusive, aggressive, threatening, or discriminatory behavior will not be tolerated.
  • Follow all reasonable instructions given by club officials or bailiffs.
  • Please note that all CRAC officers are volunteers, any unreasonable behavior by members will not be tolerated and their membership cancelled, any refunds or partial refunds will be at the discretion of the committee.

2. Respect for the Fish and Environment

  • Fish welfare must always be the top priority.
  • Use only permitted tackle and methods as set out in club rules.
  • Handle fish carefully, return them promptly, and use appropriate unhooking mats and equipment.
  • Do not litter — all rubbish, including line and bait containers, must be taken home.
  • Respect wildlife, vegetation, and the natural surroundings.

3. Membership and Identification

  • Members must hold a valid club membership and produce proof of membership when requested by a bailiff or committee member.
  • Proof of Membership is via the online Bailiff App - A current and true likeness ID photo MUST be provided
  • Membership is personal and non-transferable.
  • Allowing non-members to fish without permission is strictly prohibited.

4. Behavior on the Bank

  • Keep noise to a minimum and be considerate of other anglers.
  • Alcohol or substance misuse that affects behavior or safety will not be tolerated.
  • Fires are prohibited unless expressly permitted by the committee.
  • Dogs must be kept under control at all times.

5. Compliance with Rules and Law

  • All members must comply with club rules, fishery rules, and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Any illegal activity may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
  • Members must hold a valid Environment Agency rod license where required.

6. Safety

  • Fish in a safe and responsible manner at all times.
  • Report hazards, damage, or incidents to a committee member as soon as possible.
  • Children and vulnerable persons must be supervised appropriately.

7. Disciplinary Action

  • Breaches of this Code of Conduct may result in warnings, suspension, or termination of membership.
  • Serious misconduct may result in immediate removal from club waters without refund.
  • The committee’s decision in disciplinary matters is final.

8. Reporting Concerns

  • Members are encouraged to report any concerns, unsafe behavior, or rule breaches to a bailiff or committee member.
  • All reports will be treated fairly and, where appropriate, confidentially.

Committee Constitution & Standing Orders.

 

The club will be known as Creda Red-House Angling Club (Hereafter referred to as the Club) and will be run by a committee as a non-profit organisation for the benefit of the members .

to develop and participate in the sport of angling. 

  1. The club shall meet on the second Monday of every month.
  2. The meeting will take place January, February,March April, May, June, July August, September, October, November & December.  Membership will be taken in January, February & March
  3. The meeting will start at 8 pm and business will be concluded no later than 9.30 pm.
  4. Only members or people who are about to join on the night will be allowed to attend the meeting.
  5. Guests can be allowed to attend the meeting with the permission of the committee but have no voting rights.  (Guests would be – landlords, environment agency, speaker etc)
  6. There will be a minimum of 6 committee members to make a committee meeting quorum.
  7. The will be a minimum of 15 general members to make a quorum of an annual general meeting.
  8. The October meeting will be the annual general meeting (AGM).
  9. Any change of rule can only take place at the AGM or an Extra Ordinary General Meeting. An Extra Ordinary General Meeting would be convened should it be necessary to do so. (Please also refer to Rule 20)
  10. Motions to change rule must be in writing and presented to the club the meeting before the .
  11. The committee will consist of at least 10 members.
  12. The committee will be elected at the .
  13. If you have been a member for more than 3 years you are eligible to stand to be a committee member, unless invited onto the committee by way of having specialist knowledge or benefit to the club.
  14. If you have been a member of the committee for 3 years you are eligible to an honorarium.  Honorarium will only be given to committee members who attend 6 meetings.  January, February & March meetings are not included as they are membership renewal meetings.  This is considered a thank you for work done during the year for the club.

14a. Committee members who have served the club on the committee for a period of

ten years or more (cumulative, not consecutive) are entitled to have their membership fee waived for life.

  1. There will be four members of the committee who will be classed as the executive.  The executive will act for the club between meetings in such matters and negotiation of new waters, management of the waters etc.  
  1. The executive members must be committee members for at least 3 years unless invited by way of having benefit to the club or lack of eligible members, and executive members must report back any action they have taken during the month at the full meeting.   Unless it is business of a confidential matter e.g. middle of negotiations for new water.  But this must be reported back once negotiations are complete.
  2. The executive will usually consist of the Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Match Secretary.  If one of the above wishes not be an executive member the committee can nominate another committee member.  This must be approved by a majority vote of the committee.
  3. If the executive needs to meet 3 out of the 4 need to attend to make a quorum.
  4. In order to maintain consistency, executive members will be elected biannually, two at a time eg. Year 1 – Chair &  Match Secretary, Year 2 - Secretary & Treasurer.

19a. in addition to the above rule, when elected, committee will hold that position for a period of two years.

  1. In regard to the management of club waters, the committee/executive maintain the authority to take necessary actions to amend and impose temporary restrictions as situations dictate.
  2. Two auditors will be appointed by the committee, and will prepare the Club accounts for presentation at the AGM.
  3. An annual subscription will be levied at a level to cover the operating costs of the Club.
  4. The subscription will be recommended to the members by the committee at the AGM.

General Rules.

  1. All members fishing club waters must have with them a current rod licence, identity card and club permit.  These must be produced on request by a bailiff or other member who identify themselves.

Definition:-

Juvenile           Up to the age of 12 years. (1-11)

Junior              12 years of age to 16 years of age. (12-16)

                                    Senior              Over 16 years of age. (17-64)

                                    OAP                Over 16 years of age. (65+)

Juveniles.        Are not allowed to fish rivers.

May fish still waters if accompanied by an adult member who is responsible for them at all time and share the same peg.

Juniors.            May fish the rivers if accompanied by an adult who is responsible for them at all times. 

  1. A maximum of two rods maybe fished on one swim only.  Juveniles and juniors can only fish 1 rod.
  2. Do not encroach another swim.
  3. No member to fish within 10 metres (still water) and 25 metres (River) of another angler, unless by mutual consent.
  4. Keep nets, when used must comply with the water authority regulations.  No other container to used to retain fish.
  5. No fish over 2 lb (1 kilo) to be retained by pleasure anglers.
  6. Boilies and high protein baits are banned from all club waters.
  7. Barbless hooks only on all still waters. No barbed hooks to be used on still waters.
  8. Fishing is from dawn to dusk on all waters.  No night fishing.
  9. No tins or glass containers are to be taken to club waters.  All litter to be taken away.  Litter around your peg is a crime under Section 87 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. 

Litter can include :- Food wrappers, drink containers, cigarette butts, filters, dog fouling, bubble gum, news papers etc.

  1. All members when fishing must be in possession of a suitable landing net and an un-hooking mat if fishing for specimen fish.

Club Matches.

Matches will be held on club waters during the year.  These waters will be closed to pleasure angling until one hour after completion of the match

Pleasure anglers can then fish any vacant peg but must respect and not hinder the match angler in any way at the discretion of the match secretary.

All matches are to be fish to NFA rules.

Certain rules and conditions apply to matches only.  Detail can be provided by the match secretary on request.

Rivers & Other Waters.

Keep to the riverbank or other recognised path at all times.  Do not cut across fields. 

Misconduct.

Should a member commit an act of misconduct, the member will be called before the committee (except, 2 exec members) to give an explanation of there conduct.  The committee is authorised to take whatever action is appropriate in the interest of the club.  If expulsion of a member from the club is imposed, there will be no financial redress, and s/he will not be eligible for further membership.

The member will have the right to appeal and this must in writing stating ground for appeal.  The appeal will be heard by the 2 executive members who were not part of the original decision process.

Membership

Membership will now be digital (Via Clubmate App or equal/similar) All members must provide a current and recognisable ID photo via the online portal, along with Name, Address, D.O.B. and contact details. This is to keep an accurate record of the membership and membership fees, allow Bailiffs to confirm current membership status and prove membership and to make it easier for members to join or renew memberships. Members that do not or cannot access the online App can join at a meeting however their details must be entered into the portal, ID Photos can be added on their behalf at the meetings. They will be provided with a Membership Book Cover however this is not a valid proof of membership. In certain circumstance membership may be available at the Secretary’s house at his discretion however as a rule we will not be offering this service anymore.

Conducting of Business at the 

The meeting will start at 8pm and will close no later the 9.30pm.

Minutes will be read from the previous .

There will be a report from the auditors on the fund of the club and the out going treasurer will advice the  on membership fees for the following year.

The chair will address the meeting before he dissolves the committee apart from the standing Executives & Committee (bi-annually).

The Chair or Secretary (bi-annually) will then run the meeting and the first business will be to seek nominations for Chair & Match Secretary or Secretary and Treasurer (bi-annually). The rest of the committee can be voted on block if there is a nomination from the floor. If there are more than 2 nominations it will be put to the vote. 

Every nomination must be proposed and seconded.

Any change to rule must be in writing and must have been presented to the club at the September meeting.  If a motion is submitted on the night of the  it will be ruled out of order.

If a motion is put to the  the proposer will be given 5 minutes to talk on his motion. The motion must then be seconded.  If the motion is not seconded the motion will fall.

After the motion had been seconded the chair will open up the motion for debate.  In order to keep business moving every speaker will be allowed no more than 3 minutes.  Normally each speaker will be only given one chance to speak on this motion.  It is the chairs decision if he allows a speaker to speak for a second time on the same motion.

At the end of the debate the proposer will be given the right to reply which will be no more than 3 minutes.
